The House

Made slowly,
in small numbers

Maison Noir began in 2016 above a framer's workshop in Woodstock, with two machinists, one cutting table and a stubborn idea: that a wardrobe should be small, considered and built to last.

We design in seasons but never in volume. Each style is cut in a limited run from deadstock and mill-end European cloth — wool, silk, crêpe and cashmere chosen for how they age, not how they photograph. Garments are finished by hand, pressed properly, and checked twice before they ever reach you.

Nothing is rushed, nothing is mass-produced, and nothing leaves the atelier we wouldn't wear ourselves for the next ten years.

The art of dressing down

"Luxury isn't loud. It's the weight of good cloth and the line of a seam done right."

This season is built around eight foundation pieces that move between day and evening with nothing more than a change of shoe. Tonal, tactile, and cut to be layered — a wardrobe rather than a collection.

  • 01 Half-canvassed tailoring in Italian wool
  • 02 Bias-cut silk that moves with you
  • 03 A tonal palette of ink, bone & blush
  • 04 Designed, cut and finished in Cape Town
